After I bought my 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo off Cars & Bids, I contacted Doug to see if he wanted to review it. The video just went live:

Doug remarks a lot in there about the car’s amazing condition and originality, and that’s certainly one of the big things that sold me on it.

He sums it up with, “This is an exceptional car. It drives well, it’s fun, it’s exciting, and the Turbo version is pretty fast, and I just think there’s a lot to love here.”

I agree!

Seriously you drive your car only to get coffee in Starbucks?
    You’re an *sshole 😀 😀

      1. No, I drive my cars all over. I drove the 944 from San Diego to Palm Springs to Vegas, and drove the Speedster from Vegas to LA for a weekend, and drove it back.

      2. Yes, I’m an *sshole, and if that’s news to you, you’re a pretty slow reader.

Man, I fell down the 944 rabbit hole this past weekend (my interest started in 2004 when I was in college and couldn’t afford anything) and now I see that you have one?? Must resist the urge…

I ended up selling it to another collector. I liked it, but I didn’t *love* it. It was very nice to drive, ran beautifully, but it just didn’t inspire me that much.

So cool! I’ve followed Doug since his youtube channel started and I’ve followed you since… maybe ’07/’08 seems about right.

Hope it treats ya right. I’ve heard some folks say 944’s can be difficult to work on.

It was delightful, but I’ve sold it and moved on. It was a great experience, but it was too similar to other cars in the collection, so I couldn’t dedicate the garage space to it. I do miss it though!
