Doug DeMuro is a YouTuber who reviews cars in a different way: he doesn’t focus on their 0-60 times or their gas mileage, but rather their quirks & features. He also doesn’t just review new cars: he reviews weird cars, old affordable cars, and yes, exotics.
Doug happens to live in San Diego, so I left him access to my Jaguar XKR-S while I’m out of the country for a while. He just published his video review of it:
I wondered how he was even going to make a whole video about it because I didn’t think it had that many quirks or features, hahaha. It’s just pretty, fast, and loud.
Before he filmed it, I kinda expected him to eviscerate it. The XK is a beautiful car, but…the XKR-S model tacks on a few carbon fiber bits and ridiculous side spoilers that don’t really make sense on a Jaguar. The 5-liter V-8 is a really fun engine that makes glorious noises, but…there are cheaper ways to get over 500 horsepower these days, and the exhaust actually sounds the best outside of the car, not inside. The interior is nice, but…the infotainment system was outdated even when it was new. (To fix that, the Jag’s up at Musicar in Portland as we speak, getting audio upgrades like I did to my 911.)
But at the same time, I don’t care about any of that, hahaha. You don’t buy an XKR-S because it’s a good logical decision. You buy one because it’s an emotional decision: it’s beautiful, and it loves to slide around sideways.

Haha I can’t believe I was right when I saw that blue XKR-S in Doug DeMuro’s last vid thumbnail and immediately thought it was yours (and this is how you land here through a “brent ozar xkr-s” search :D) ! Let’s have a tour of all its quirks !
HA!
That back seat is crazy – I cracked up at the sticker that tells the back seat passengers to duck or get wacked in the head.
I’d never seen that sticker before! I laughed out loud when he showed it.
