Buck Woody is back. Here’s why you should follow him again.

One year ago, Buck Woody disappeared. He stopped blogging, took down his Twitter and Facebook accounts, and updated his LinkedIn profile to include the term “Department of Defense.” He still worked for Microsoft, but he was doing something…unspeakable. (Even more unspeakable than normal.)

"How do I get my soul back out of this thing?"
“How do I get my soul back out of this thing?”

Good news – he’s back, but in slightly different places:

  • Blogging at BuckWoody.WordPress.com
  • @BuckWoodyMSFT on Twitter
  • BuckWoody on Facebook

And here’s why you should care:

  • He’s now on Microsoft’s Advanced Analytics team (as pirates say, “ML, R”)
  • He’s helping people use data to solve problems
  • He doesn’t have a stats background (and neither do you, so he’s the perfect person to teach you – well, maybe “perfect” isn’t the term I’d use for Buck)

Follow him, and subscribe to his blog. I promise it’ll be a great journey even if you don’t follow in his footsteps.

You are, as always, my hero. I am looking forward to this! We HAVE to do a session again. My Batman outfit may need a bit of “fluffing”, however…
