Tulum is quite nice.
We went there last Jan/Feb as part of a cruise. I really enjoyed the ruins and the beach. Very cool indeed!
How difficult was bringing Ernie with y’all?
It’s surprisingly easy. She has to be microchipped and current with her shots, and then within a couple of weeks of the Mexico trip, she has to be seen by her vet and by a US government bureau. (Erika does it – I’m not sure if it’s USDA or what it is.) We bring that paperwork to the border, and the Mexico immigration folks check it closely.
There’s also the plane fare. On United, you have to say you have a pet ahead of time, and your seat (and even the flight) depends on the airplane and the number of other dog owners on the flight. There’s only a limited number of dogs allowed per plane, and they’re not allowed in first class unless it’s a 737. (Has to do with the cabin layout and space under the seats.)
I had the luck of being in Tulum during an eclipse years ago. Words can’t describe the disappointment that no feathered serpent gods decided to emerge. But the view is awesome. 🙂
HA! Wow, I bet that was gorgeous.
[…] Take Erika back to Tulum, Mexico – we had the time of our lives here, and it was without a doubt our favorite vacation ever. Completed in December 2014. […]
